FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

How long does the candle-making process take?

The entire experience takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours from start to finish.

How much does the candle-making experience cost?

Our self-guided candle-making experience includes your choice of vessel, up to three fragrance blends, soy wax, and optional add-ons like crystal chips, glitter, and wax melts.

  • 8 oz candle – $45
  • 10 oz candle – $55

Additional upgrades, such as larger vessels and an expanded selection flowers/ mica shimmer powder, are available for an extra fee and can be purchased upon arrival.

Do I need a reservation?

While walk-ins are welcome if space permits, we highly recommend making a reservation to ensure availability. Our classes and events often sell out, and we'd hate to turn you away! If you plan to walk in, we suggest calling ahead to check availability.

Can I bring my own drinks and food?

Food is only permitted for private parties or workshops

Do you serve food?

At this time, we do not serve food, but you are welcome to bring your own. We are also working on partnerships with local restaurants for ordering and delivery—stay tuned for updates!

What is your cancellation policy?

Due to the custom nature of candle making, we do not offer refunds, but we are happy to reschedule your session within the following guidelines:

  • 72+ Hours Notice: No transfer fee; you can reschedule for any available session within 30 days.
  • Less Than 72 Hours Notice: A $20 transfer fee applies for rescheduling.
  • No-Shows: Unfortunately, no-shows forfeit their session and must rebook at full price.
  • Late Arrivals: Please arrive 10 minutes early. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, we may ask you to reschedule to ensure you have enough time for the full experience. We have blocked appointments so we must make sure others get their time block.

Why do I have to fill out a liability form?

Candle-making involves working with hot wax, fragrance oils, and hot boiler, so for safety reasons, all guests are required to sign a liability waiver before participating. This ensures that everyone understands the risks involved and agrees to follow all safety guidelines during the experience.

  • The minimum age to participate is 8 years old due to the handling of hot materials.
  • Guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult and have a parent or guardian sign the waiver on their behalf.

Can you accommodate private groups or events?

Absolutely! We offer private candle-making events for birthdays, bridal showers, corporate outings, and more. Private bookings include a 3-hour guided candle-making experience, and guests are welcome to bring drinks and food to enjoy during the session. Please call to block off a time !

We can accommodate up to 13-15 guest, and private group reservations receive a 10% discount on merchandise. To inquire, please call to reserve a spot and leave a non-refundable deposit to secure date.

What if my friend doesn’t want to make a candle?

All guests must purchase a seat to participate. However, if your friend prefers a different experience, they can create wax melts instead of a candle!

Can I take my candle home the same day?

Yes! After pouring, your candle will need about 20 minutes to set before decorating. While waiting, feel free to:

  • Browse Willow + Harlow candles, wax melts, and personalized candle labels in our shop
  • Take photos at our candle studio photo wall
  • Enjoy your time with friends

Although your candle may appear dry, it will still be soft inside. For the best results, we recommend waiting 48 hours before lighting your candle.

If you prefer not to take your candle home right away, you can:

  • Pick it up later the same day before closing
  • Have it shipped to you for $10

How do I care for my candle?

To ensure a safe and long-lasting burn:

  • Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn.
  • Allow the melted wax to reach the edges on the first burn to prevent tunneling.
  • Never burn for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
  • Burn on a heat-resistant surface (avoid wood or soft surfaces).
  • If the flame flickers too much, trim the wick slightly.
  • The glass container will remain hot after burning, so avoid touching it immediately.
